(Disambiguation: "Google test" is slang for "search engine test", but the proper name "Google Test" refers to the Google C++ Testing Framework from Google; this article concerns the much more common informal term.) [1]

Search engine test refers to the act of using a search engine to test how popular a term is. "Googling" a word or phrase may be referred to as a Google test.
Other uses of "search testing" are to find where a webpage ranks in the results. Positions can differ depending on the search engine used or search methods integrated. It also depends on the language used.
The term may also refer to the act of connecting to large internet websites such as Google in an attempt to test connectivity to the Internet, as connecting to these large sites are usually fast and always online.
