My work and interests involve historical record and context. In preserving materials from the past, I do my best to intuit the value they might have for present and future users. Similarly, as a photographer and journalist, I attempt to recognize and record new and worthwhile media.

When I was younger, I used the phrase "future nostalgia" for imagining the perspective of someone in years to come, and what details about the present would interest them, whether in photographs or descriptive text. This was primarily a response to encountering such records which lacked crucial identifying information, such as a photo of people without any captions or visual clues in the framing to indicate where they were and what they were doing. If your intent is to capture a moment of a story you want to tell, consider what details you can include for when you're not around to relate it personally.
