LearnUpon (also known as LU) [1] is a SaaS cloud based learning management system (LMS) designed specifically for professional training companies and small to medium sized enterprises. [2] [3].

LearnUpon was founded in early 2011 in Dublin, Ireland. The offices are located in 12 Hume Street, Dublin where all the development of the application took place. LearnUpon is developed with Ruby on Rails implementing a MySQL backend database and is currently hosted with Engine Yard, sitting on top of the Amazon EC2 (Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud) backbone and Amazon_S3 storage. Following an alpha release of LearnUpon in September 2011, a beta soon followed in March 2012 to a smaller set of sign-ups with the official launch starting in May of 2012. Since the official launch, LearnUpon has grown to over 45 customers world wide with their customer base including (we will include links etc. here but wanted to ensure we are writing the correct type of Article here).

LearnUpon is available in English, Spanish, French and German and provides the tools needed to create and manage online course content, including the importing and launching of the standards based SCORM modules or courses. LearnUpon is primarily used by training companies in the UK & US markets, however LearnUpon has spread it's reach to countries such as Spain, Canada, Israel, Australia.
