Aga's research interests focus on the detection & analysis of contaminants in water systems, including rivers, lakes, waste water, and groundwater. Chemicals analyzed range from antibiotic contaminants due to agricultural contamination of groundwater, viral genomes in waste water, antidepressants and Recent work has been in the detection of persistent organic pollutants, including the "forever chemicals" per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) accumulate in the environment.
