TONY SANDS & THE DRUMBEATS Were a rock n' roll group started by three lads frm Northampton Alan Lines lead guitar John Thompson Vocals and Terry Valentine rhythm in 1959. Later being joined by Chris Parker bass guitar Dave Holland drums.

In 1960 John Thompson was replaced with Tony Sands vocals and Terry Valentine was replaced with Jed Hickman keyboards and the group was complete performing alongside Eric Burdon and the Animals Joe Brown And Dusty Springfield. They had one minor hit record 'Shame Shame Shame'/ 'I Got a Feeling ' They went on to do other things in 1964. Alan Lines joining a 12 piece dance band The Doug Day Orchestra until he retired from playing in 1988. Dave Holland going on to join Trapeze then Judas priest
