Cowal Gold Mine (also known as the Lake Cowal Gold Mine) is a open-pit gold mine, operated by Barrick Gold, located at Lake Cowal, 32 kilometres (20 mi) north east of West Wyalong and 125 kilometres (78 mi) of Parkes.
Construction of the mine commenced in February 2004, with mining commencing in 2006 with the first pouring of gold on 30 April 2006.[1][2]
