Belize has competed in the Pan American Games since 1967. The Pan American Games is a sporting event that athletes from the Americas participate in during the summer season. [1] Belize has had most of their success in the Pan American games come from Softball, Belize won their first medal in their history of the Pan American games in 1979 when they won Bronze. [2] Belize won another medal in softball in 1983 and this also was a Bronze medal. Also, softball is the only sport that Belize has won any medal in for the Pan American games. Olympians of the names of Alfonso Martinez, Michael Aguilar, Kenneth Medwood, and Kaina Martinez have all also participated in the Pan American Games in their respective sports. [3]
