Abby Martin is a North American, videographer, writer, journalist and Psychedelic artist; best known as both: host and pundit of an approx. half-hour, 5 day a week, Russia Today America political current affairs programme, with perhaps an MTV style, entitled: Breaking The Set; which replaced RT's The Alyona Show, in July 2012.

In 2009, she founded a citizen journalism media organization named MEDIAROOTS, based in Oakland California. She's also a board member of a research organization named Project Censored.

Martin's politically left-wing, tall, deep-voiced and often provocatively dressed; with crimson hair, tattooed legs and a ring in her left nostril.

Her television performance is outspoken, occasionally satirical; peppers monologues with sarcasm and pseudo-soliloquys.

She has described herself as a political, anti-war activist and community organizer.[1]

The Israeli Prime Minister's spokesman Alex Selsky, has at least twice accused Martin's BTS coverage of the Gaza-Israel "conflict" as "very very one sided".[1]

As with many of Russia Today's television presenters; Martin's often accused of being a Kremlin propagandist. A charge which she strenuously refutes.[1]

In June 2012, a staffer representing the Media Relations Committee at the Capitol, threatened Martin with: arrest, press credential-stripping, charges of trespassing and harassment; for collaborating with fellow journalist Luke Rudowski, in confronting US Republican Senator Rand Paul with questions about his allegedly hypocritical endorsement of (interventionist) Mitt Romney's Presidential campaign.[1]

Has a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Political Science from San Diego State University (2006) with a minor in Spanish [1][2][3]

Starting from the age of 19; she's prolific in producing wild, abstract, acrylics and collages; featuring the themes of: sex/pornography, death (blood & skulls), politicians, Western rock musicians, music, environmental destruction, state oppression, North America (and its flag), pro-peace, anti-war.[1]

Claims to have coined the disparaging nickname "#DRONEKING" for US President Barack Obama.[1]

Started to scrutinize what she sees as North America's state-compliant interventionist media, after her ex-boyfriend in high school, joined the military soon after September 11th 2001.[1]

Lived in Costa Rica and Spain, to help her Spanish studies.[1] Also lived in San Francisco.[1]
