This is dedicated to my favorite TV shows, Criminal Minds and Person of Interest. Criminal Minds is a show that has helped me immensely to deal with personal issues from childhood, and to better protect and educate myself regarding various obscure subjects. In short, I'm obsessed, and consider myself one of its biggest fans. The table not yet in existence on this page merely serves as a template for what will be the eventual creation of the Wikipedia page entitled Criminal Minds (season 12). I don't know too much about sandboxes, but I am beginning to learn and adapt to the ways of Wikipedia! I am fairly well-versed in writing HTML and CSS code and I love math so I understand the binary and hexadecimal numerical systems considerably, which is why I so much enjoy creating these types of tables. I'm hoping that what is in my sandbox cannot be subject to deletion. Since it is in no way linked to any official Criminal Minds pages, I believe it does not violate the WP:TVUPCOMING policy because it is not an official page. If any editors believe otherwise, I am open to suggestions!
Criminal Minds (season 11)
[edit]Criminal Minds was renewed for an eleventh season on May 11, 2015,[1] with an initial order for 22 episodes[2] and is confirmed to premier on September 30, 2015.[1] The series will proudly produce its 250th episode this season; it has been confirmed by Joe Mantegna, himself, that he will be directing episodes 3 and 17 of the season, the latter of which will be the 250th episode of the series.[3]
There will be some interesting cast changes this season, as Aisha Tyler has signed on for a recurring role as Dr. Tara Lewis. Although she will be filling the space left by the departure of Kate Callahan and JJ's temporary absence, it was confirmed in a recent interview by Executive producer Erica Messer that Aisha Tyler is in no way replacing Jennifer Love Hewitt, and that Kate Callahan's space will remain open. Also, Joe Mantegna hinted at it, but now Erica Messer has officially confirmed that Paget Brewster will be returning as Emily Prentiss, also in a recurring capacity.[4][5]

It is confirmed that all cast members will be returning for the season, with the exception of Jennifer Love Hewitt, whose character, Kate Callahan, gave Hotch her resignation in the season ten finale. The reason for this mirrored her real life decision to take a year off to spend time with her new baby and family, as she was pregnant and her pregnancy was written into the show.[6] Although JJ announced to Reid that she was also pregnant, she will be returning for season 11 as a main cast member, being absent for around only 5 episodes.[7]

Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior
[edit]In early 2009, Michael Ausiello from Entertainment Weekly said that he and studios were discussing the possibility of a spin-off of the procedural crime drama Criminal Minds. Studio Producer Ed Bernero confirmed it by disclosing that "it's safe to say there will be something soon." The show had a completely new cast, with the exception of Kirsten Vangsness, who reprised her role as Penelope Garcia. By late 2010, the director had been chosen, and the casting completed.[11] It was announced that Forest Whitaker would star. Whitaker's character, Samuel "Sam" "Coop" Cooper, and his team were introduced in Criminal Minds Season 5.[12][13] Richard Schiff had a recurring role as FBI Director Jack Fickler.[14]
Samuel Cooper and his team set the stage for the spin-off in the 18th episode of the fifth season of Criminal Minds, "The Fight"[15] (April 7, 2010). This "back-door pilot" approach was also used for other CBS shows that were introduced in original series, such as CSI: Miami (2002-2012), CSI: NY (2004-2013) and NCIS: Los Angeles. Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior was the first cancellation of CBS remakes and CSI: NY was picked up for an eighth season in its place.

Person of Interest
[edit]Person of Interest, created by Jonathan Nolan, a man with a proven genius-level IQ, and managed by Showrunner Greg Plageman, is a revolutionary Sci-Fi Crime Drama TV series which showcases the complexities and moral responsibilities of Government in a post-911 world - especially the U.S. - the NSA, the CIA and ISA, and, most prevalently, artificial intelligence and the vast power it can wield and unprecedented crime and terrorism prevention of which it is capable if it is in the right hands, or the extensive violence and social/societal decay it can cause if to have fallen into the wrong hands. Both scenarios have been explored in great detail throughout the course of the series, thus far.
POI has many talented writers and directors on their staff. Their most revered writers are Creator Jonathan Nolan, Showrunner Greg Plageman, Co-Executive Producer Denise Thé, Andy Callahan, and Producers Amanda Segel, Erik Mountain and David Slack. Their best staff directors are Chris Fisher, Richard J. Lewis and Frederick E. O. Toye. They have also used a few famous crime drama directors for support along the way. (e.g. Félix Alcalá, Colin Bucksey and Larry Teng)
Among the Person of Interest staff are former software engineers and even former Military Intelligence Officers. The most noteworthy of them, however, is Tony Camerino. He is a PhD in software engineering and worked for the government, even on projects for the NSA related to artificial intelligence. He served as the show's main technical advisor until mid-Season 3, at which point he became a staff writer and has maintained that responsibility thereafter.
This TV show is equally as special to me as Criminal Minds, just in a different way. Criminal Minds helped me to figure myself out and fight my own personal demons; Person of Interest has sparked a passion in me for law enforcement, computer programming, and protecting those who cannot protect themselves. It has also vastly improved my moral compass and my general understanding of the world and how it works.

John Reese (Jim Caviezel), a former CIA agent and Army Special Forces soldier turned homeless alcoholic, has a struggle with a group of hot-headed teenagers on the subway. After this, he is extracted from police custody before Homicide Detective Joss Carter (Taraji P. Henson) can confront him about links to previous killings discovered through fingerprints analysis. Reese is brought to a mysterious and somewhat secretive billionaire, Harold Finch (Michael Emerson), who is the creator of the next-generation software known simply as "The Machine". After 9/11, Finch developed a computer program that can sift through enormous amounts of data, looking for patterns of behavior or activity that would predict another attack. It also provided information about individuals who could be in danger; it can predict the identity of a person involved in a premeditated crime that will happen at some point in the future – however, Finch's back-door link to The Machine only provides the Social Security number of the person, and offers no clues to their involvement or when the crime will take place. Finch, who feels a need to do something to help these people, enlists Reese to aid him in preventing these crimes, hoping that it will give Reese a purpose following the death of his girlfriend, Jessica (Susan Misner). A reluctant Reese agrees to watch the first person on his list, Diane Hansen (Natalie Zea), an Assistant District Attorney currently working on a major prosecution concerning a prominent drug killing. Reese soon learns that Hansen is not the victim, but the perpetrator running a ring of corrupt police officers and planning to kill a fellow DA, Wheeler (Brian d'Arcy James). After blackmailing one of the corrupt officers, Detective Lionel Fusco (Kevin Chapman), into being his source of information inside the NYPD, Reese reveals Hansen's corruption to an open court, kills the corrupt Detective Stills (James Hanlon), and links Fusco to the crime to ensure his future cooperation. Reese agrees to continue preventing violent crimes. | |||||||

419 (3J5419) "Search and Destroy" Lives on to work with Shaw and duplicate Machine. |
107 (2J6207) "Witness" |
First Appearance of: Carl Elias. (Enrico Colantoni) |
Carl Elias is a highly intelligent mob boss, originally a sworn enemy who has taken over the city's criminal syndicates. After being made aware by Reese of the consequences of hurting innocent people, the two come to an understanding; this understanding assures that they will not interfere in the affairs of one another, and he occasionally helps the team deal with gang-related issues especially when such assistance is required to help save irrelevant numbers. |
510 (3J6010) "The Day the World Went Away" |
113 (2J6213) "Root Cause" |
First Appearance of: Samantha "Root" Groves. (Amy Acker) |
Root is a former killer-for-hire and highly-skilled hacker who, after displaying malicious intentions to gain access to the Machine, becomes part of the team after being rehabilitated and designated the Machine's "Analog Interface", the only human who can communicate with It directly, tasked with its "Tertiary Operations" which deal with neither, the relevant nor irrelevant numbers, but with tasks to help protect the Machine and its human agents. |
510 (3J6010) "The Day the World Went Away" |
122 (2J6222) "No Good Deed" |
First Appearance of: Special Counsel. (Jay O. Sanders) |
Known only as "Special Counsel" he is 2nd in Command of the Government's clandestine operations using The Machine, codenamed "Northern Lights". He acts as a liaison for Control and dispatches teams and units, both large and small, of ISA operatives and their handlers to eliminate "relevant" numbers; he does so under the guise of the Office of Special Counsel. His secondary objective is to eliminate those who discover the Machine's existence, perceived to be an imminent threat to the Northern Lights Program. |
222 (2J7222) "God Mode" (real time) & 316 (2J7616) "RAM" (flashbacks) |
201 (2J7201) "The Contingency" |
First Appearance of: ISA Agent Robert Hersh. (Boris McGiver) |
Hersh is a highly-trained Government assassin who acts as an enforcer for Special Counsel, on Control's orders. His first mission is to take out Reese in retaliation for him having killed an entire ISA team single-handedly in an effort to save an irrelevant number. Reese is also considered a liability for the fear that he may pose a threat to the Program. In a shocking subversion of events, Hersh eventually takes over Special Counsel's job as 2nd in command when Control orders Hersh to execute him, after which he eventually becomes an ally, helping to fight a much greater threat. |
323 (2J7623) "Deus Ex Machina" |
213 (2J7213) "Dead Reckoning" |
First Appearance of: John Greer (John Nolan) |
John Greer is, by far, the show's ultimate villain, and a self-proclaimed idealist. He has spent his entire time on the show attempting to gain control over the Machine, (unsuccessfully) then Samaritan, which he eventually comes to view as his superior and ultimately, all possible artificial intelligence resources, claiming "information is the new currency" and that "humanity needs a firm hand, not coddling". His motives are vague and amoral at best, but one thing is certain: he holds little to no value to human life, except for his own, and his intentions are to take over the world, with Samaritan as his weapon, Decima his army, and collateral damage unlike anything one could imagine. He is an entrepreneur, and his company of which he is founder and CEO, Decima Technologies, a private intelligence corporation out of Shanghai, China, is the business entity which comes to possess the only other artificial intelligence machine successfully brought online, Samaritan. |
512 (3J6013) ".exe" |
216 (2J7216) "Relevance" |
First Appearance of: ISA Agent Sameen Shaw (Sarah Shahi) |
Sameen Shaw is a highly-trained Government assassin and ISA operative, working for the Northern Lights Program. However, she does not know about the Machine's existence; she is part of a group of operatives designated "Asset Catalyst Indigo" by the Machine; her specific codename as an ISA Agent is "Indigo-5 Alpha", part of a two-person team, acting on the Machine's actionable intelligence derived from "relevant" numbers as her main objective. Her handler is a man named Wilson, who acts as a go-between for the ISA's relevant operations and the Office of Special Counsel, under Special Counsel's orders, and coordinated by Control, with whom none of the "Asset Catalysts" are allowed to interact unless it's on Control's own orders. Her partner, Michael Cole, starts to wonder why the group from which they're told their intel comes, "Research" (which is actually the Machine) is never wrong, and is kept in such extreme secrecy, ever for ISA black-ops. This causes Control to order the execution of Shaw and Cole, which causes the Machine to give Harold & John their numbers, in the "irrelevant" category. The attempted - but failed - execution is carried out by two 3-man ISA teams sent directly by Wilson, a direct betrayal. Thanks to the intervention of Harold and John, team Indigo-5 is alerted in time for Agent Shaw to survive, but Agent Michael Cole, ("Indigo-5 Beta") is killed. After confronting Special Counsel at a Gala and personally handing over Cole's controversial files which could've put the program in jeopardy, she agrees with Special Counsel's obligation to protect the program at all costs, claiming she would've done the same thing, but shoots Wilson in the head for his willingness to accept a kill order rather than simply interrogate Cole. Special Counsel is impressed by her duality in staying loyal to Northern Lights, yet avenging her partner, so he lets her leave. Later she is, however, confronted in the streets by Hersh (the Agent who trained her in the first place) and injected with Aconitine, a neurotoxin which can kill within minutes. As her "body" is being put into the ambulance truck to take her to the morgue Leon Tao, a former number who helps when needed injects her with the antidote, Atropine, which counteracts the effects. With both parties satisfied, the Government thinks Shaw is dead, and Reese and Finch were able to save her, she reluctantly accepts Finch's phone number, but eventually becomes a part of the team, helping to save numbers. She comes to feel happy to do so, as she strikes up a friendship with John's dog, Bear, and takes comfort in the fact that she can continue to use her skills as an Agent without the moral ambiguity of her orders, without any distrust of her employers or any fear she'll be killed. She continues to work for the Machine with Harold, John, Root and Det. Fusco, she was captured by Samaritan operatives in mid-Season 4, but is set to return for Season 5. |
421 (3J5421) "Asylum" & 504 (3J6007) "6,741" & 513 (3J6013) "return 0" Lives on with duplicate Machine. |
222 (2J7222) "God Mode" (uncredited actress) & 311 (2J7611) "Lethe" (as Camryn Manheim) |
First Appearance of: Control. (Camryn Manheim) |
Known only by her alias, "Control", to protect her identity, (mirroring real life in that the Director of the CIA's Counterterrorism Center is known only by his codename, "Roger", for the same reason) Control, also addressed as "Ma'am", is the Director of the ISA, (Intelligence Support Activity) also known as "the Activity", and she is also the head of the Government's counterterrorism operations using the Machine. (which she and her colleagues refer to as "Research") The Government's program is codenamed "Northern Lights". She works out of an office in the Pentagon and she has been known to take extremely ruthless, violent measures to keep the Machine a secret. Strictly speaking, the Machine is not technically legal, so while Control oversees the ISA operations carried out on actionable intelligence decoded from the Machine's relevant numbers, she has made a "devil's bargain" with corrupt Senator Ross Garrison, blackmailing him with her knowledge of the fact that he's guilty of insider trading with the stock market, (information she obtained using illegal surveillance of the capitol building) to ensure that he keeps the Senate, Congress and the rest of the Government in the dark, thus ensuring no federal obstacles to her objectives with the Machine. She has an undeniable reputation of always getting the job done and of keeping the Country safe from terrorist acts, although her methods, however effective, are sometimes considered corrupt and excessively violent. In September 2010, in order to keep Nathan Ingram - the man who built the Machine with Harold Finch - from talking to a reporter and revealing the Machine to the world, she ordered Special Counsel to send Hersh on a mission to retrieve a convicted terrorist and attempted suicide bomber from Guantanamo Bay, lock him in a van filled with the explosives the bomber built, and detonate them by remote, once Nathan Ingram arrived at a nearby Ferry Terminal to see the reporter. This resulted in not only Nathan Ingram's death, but the deaths of 158 people, injuring countless others, including Harold Finch who had just been approaching the Ferry to see Nathan. This event is what caused Finch's present-day injuries, and the need for his fiancée to believe he'd died, for her own protection. Above all else, Control is a staunch believer in a philosophy that National Security far outweighs the importance of privacy. |
422 (3J5422) "YHWH" (real time) & 316 (2J7616) "RAM" (flashbacks) Last appeared in YHWH, but lives on to run [!]Northern Lights 2.0[!], the government's operation using duplicate Machine. |
