Evaluate an article
[edit]This is where you will complete your article evaluation. Please use the template below to evaluate your selected article.
- Name of article: Digital Media in Education
- Briefly describe why you have chosen this article to evaluate : Digital media in education can help level the playing field for students and help teachers keep students engaged with the content
Lead
[edit]- Evaluation
- The Lead needs major work, for starters the title of the article is not even bolded
- The Lead isn't all that compelling. By introducing the article stating that digital media is competing with books, it contradicts the digital aspect that the article is supposed to be describing.
Content
[edit]- Evaluation
- Content is good but could be improved
- Content is not up to the current times of zoom classes; nothing about how Digital media is used during this pandemic is stated
- The article is written in a style similar to an informative college paper with the topic of digital media in education. I feel like this could be a great resource for teaches to find new websites or apps to use in their classrooms to engage students.
- No history of Digital media education
Tone and Balance
[edit]- Evaluation
- The article adds an implication of digital media but its buy far the smallest section meaning this section brings up the negative effects of digital media.
- Like I said before it reads like a college paper not really like a Wiki article.
Sources and References
[edit]- Evaluation
- sources are pretty light for the most part
- one study brought up didn't have any sources related to it.
- Link and references are almost non- existent
Organization
[edit]- Evaluation
- the article is well-written and flows well from top to bottom
- This is not a wiki article, it is more of a summary of what Digital media in education is.
Images and Media
[edit]- Evaluation
- There only two very outdated pictures that are small; definitely should add more images and bullet points and websites that are used
Checking the talk page
[edit]- Evaluation
- talk page is filled with past students edits that's it
Overall impressions
[edit]- Evaluation
- The article is good but lacks the information about what technology is present today in a zoom class room
- The article needs a more engaging section to it to draw the reader in
- More Information on Covid-19 and what can be used
- the article's completeness is under-developed
- in order to improve this article the author should add more reliable sources or add sources to his existing evidence to support his information on digital media in education.
