Rohan Shetty

Rohan Shetty[1], is an Indian actor and Film-maker who predominantly works in South-Indian film industry. Born as Mohan C Shetty on May 14th 1989, in Mysore, Karnataka, is an emerging talent in the Indian entertainment industry. Raised in a Hindu family, he is the son of A. Chandrashekar Shetty and Sharada M.V. and has a sibling, Varsha C Shetty.

Early Life

Rohan spent his formative years in Mysore, did his schooling in St. Matthias and later graduated from Yuvaraja's College. During his early days, he discovered his love for performing arts, actively participating in plays and street performances. These experiences laid the foundation for his creative journey, sparking an enduring interest in acting and filmmaking.

Early career in Television

After completing his studies, Rohan Shetty began his career in the corporate world from 2011 to 2013. However, the allure of storytelling and filmmaking proved irresistible. He decided to leave his stable job He spent time creating short films and honing his skills as a writer, gradually building his filmmaking skills.

Television Career

Rohan first made his debut small guest appearance which came in Panduranga Vitalla[2].(2014) on ETV Kannada and followed by,

These roles allowed Rohan to showcase his versatility, taking on both positive and negative characters with equal finesse.

Transition to Films

In 2016, Rohan made a move to films his with a supporting role in the film Mukunda Murari[8]. And he soon began to explore opportunities in the film industry and also worked in few other films in various technical departments in search of new opportunities.

Learning the Craft of Filmmaking

However due to the lack of recognition, Rohan Shetty decided to inculcate film-making skills and took a step back from TV and joined the film-making course from 2017 to 2019. This phase of his life was instrumental in broadening his understanding of storytelling, and direction.

Recent Projects and Directorial Ventures

Between 2021 and 2023, Rohan worked on several off-beat experimental projects, further refining his skills as a filmmaker. In 2023, he embarked on film named as "Lovedale", story written by himself, and a project produced by Trimbak Films that is currently in pre-production.

Rohan's another directorial debut named as "CLASSROOM" currently this upcoming film has generated considerable anticipation, promising to be a defining moment in his journey.

As he steps into this new chapter, audiences eagerly await the unique stories he will bring to life. Rohan Shetty is undeniably a name to watch in the years to come.
