I am trying to add a few more areas of interesting information, but am not sure where I should place it. For example, how Lysenko's ideas were developed to fit into dialectical materialism and Marxism. I do not understand either of these topics enough to see how they all piece together in the big picture. Another interesting area is looking at the work of Olga Lepeshiskaia in connection with Lysenko's and aiming to discredit meiosis. After the war with Germany had ended, Lysenko took a liking to the works of Olga Lepeshiskaia, who was a elder physician. She had said that for years she had been able to create cells from egg yolk and bits on non-cellular matter. She recognized common ground between her ideas and Lysenko's. By combining both of their ideas it was possible to proclaim that cells can grow from non-cellular material, and that the predicted ratios of Mendelian genetics and meiosis are incorrect. Therefore, the two were able to discredit meiosis and cytology was thrown out the window along with genetics.
