Gene

[edit]

Add: The info box at the beginning of the page

Add: C17orf78 is located on the plus strand of chromosome 17[5]

Add: It neighbors the TADA2A, DUSP14, and ACACA genes.[6]

Transcripts

[edit]

Move: the transcript information from the protein section and make a new section. Have the mRNA information here

Protein

[edit]
Localization
[edit]

Change: there is a nuclear localization signal predicted on PSORT[7]

Add: Percentages of localization predictions. Nuclear: 52.2 %[7]

Add: Fetal expression lowers with development in all tissues except the intestines, which has increasing expression over time[8][9]

Structure

[edit]

mRNA

[edit]

delete this section and move the stem-loop information to the mRNA regulation section

Protein

[edit]

add: It is also predicted to have several beta sheets[10]

Regulation

[edit]

DNA

[edit]

change: the promoter region starts where they have it listed but the end of the promoter is at 37376025 according to Genomatix (use their citation)

mRNA

[edit]

add: this section

move: the stem-loop information from above to here

add: potentially miRNA and protein information? not sure if this is too speculative

Evolution rate of C17orf78

Homology/Evolution

[edit]

Change: C17orf78 has orthologs in mammals, birds, and reptiles. It is a rapidly evolving gene, with around 40 base pairs mutating every 100 million years. There are no known paralogs for C17orf78 in humans.[5] (They listed the gene as being only found in mammals)

Add: The evolution rate graph

Replace: The old ortholog table with mine-will complete on the actual page when I am editing
