I have set up this account (User:Aviator369) to make it easier for other Wikipedians to track my numerous contributions to various aviation-related articles. I already used to have a Wikipedia user account (User:Pimpom123) but cannot remember the password to sign back into that account. Unfortunately, I forgot to state my e-mail ID when I set up that account back in 2007. Hence, the password for that account could not be mailed to me.

My main aviation interest is the big independent airlines of the UK during the 1970s and '80s as well as Gatwick Airport's development.

The reason I edit aviation articles on Wikipedia is that I feel that these often cater too much to the interests of plane spotters and lack other important information, especially about the business side (the commercial context). They are often also inadequate or cite insufficient sources and sometimes inaccurate. My aim is to make these articles appealing to a wider audience (not only plane spotters) as well as to make them informative and to give them some educational value.

Among articles I have edited/co-/re-written most recently are the British United, Caledonian and British Caledonian articles. My older contributions/edits include articles dealing with Air Anglia (all written by myself), Air France, Air Europe, Air Inter, Air UK, Berlin Regional/European UK (all written by myself), Braathens SAFE, British Island Airways, British United Island Airways, Channel Airways (largely written by myself), CityFlyer Express, Dan-Air, Dan-Air Engineering (all written by myself), easyJet, Euroberlin France (all written by myself), Jet Airways, Laker Airways, Modern Air Transport (largely written by myself), Monarch Airlines, TAT, UTA and Virgin Atlantic as well as Gatwick Airport, Berlin Tegel and Berlin Tempelhof airports. In addition, I have also occasionally done minor edits to non-aviation articles related to cultural, geographic and political subjects dealing with Southern India (eg Nilgiri mountain range).

My next edit is likely to be the British United Air Ferries stubarticle.

As of now, I am not yet a member of any Wikipedia user group. Aviator369 (talk) 23:06, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
