[edit]Dr. Norma Hollis, Hon. Ph.D., widely known as the 'Godmother of Authenticity,' was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of eight, she developed a perforated eardrum which led to severe ear infections, chronic pain and numerous surgeries throughout her life. These early experiences of adversity shaped her understanding of resilience and authenticity. She pursued higher education, earning a Bachelors degree in Child and Family Life Sciences, which laid the foundation for her career in human development, and later through life experience, a Master’s in Education and a PhD in Entrepreneurship.
Career
[edit]Dr. Norma Hollis is a distinguished change agent and authority on authentic leadership. With over 30 years of research into human nature, she has crafted transformative human development programs centered around authenticity. Her work spans several key industries, including Early Childhood Development, Professional Speaking, and Executive Coaching.
Pioneering Work
[edit]Early Childhood Development: Dr. Hollis developed an early childhood assessment process that identified early learning issues, which she implemented in Detroit, MI, and Cleveland, OH.
Professional Speaking: She was the first Black woman to own a speaker bureau exclusively representing Black speakers, amplifying underrepresented voices in the industry.
