Notice of paid work relating to Wikipedia |
---|
Since 2007, I've done website and search engine work to help client info appear online. In late 2020, I discovered a client's wikipedia bio page omits key info, and has aspects that appear not to comply with Wikipedia guidelines for a bio of a living person. At this time, I intend to limit my paid editing to the preparation and requesting of edits for that one bio. Edits I propose will be limited to third-party referenced factual additions, and edits to bring the bio more in to compliance with Wikipedia guidelines. I am a newcomer to Wikipedia editing. I welcome input regarding my contributions. |
I currently (Q4 2020) am learning the ropes for contributing and editing on wikipedia.org. When I post the first set of requested edits on behalf of a client, I'll post details here too.

- "Man is the symbol-using (symbol-making, symbol-misusing) animal, inventor of the negative (or moralized by the negative), separated from his natural condition by instruments of his own making, goaded by the spirit of hierarchy (or moved by the sense of order), and rotten with perfection".[1]

- "Undue weight can be given in several ways, including but not limited to depth of detail, quantity of text, prominence of placement, juxtaposition of statements and use of imagery."
- "Balancing aspects ... An article should not give undue weight to minor aspects of its subject, but should strive to treat each aspect with a weight proportional to its treatment in the body of reliable, published material on the subject. For example, discussion of isolated events, criticisms, or news reports about a subject may be verifiable and impartial, but still disproportionate to their overall significance to the article topic."
