ISU Synchronized Skating Challenger Series
[edit]The ISU Synchronized Skating Challenger Series is a series of international synchronized skating competitions, ranked below the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2019–20 season, the series consists of up to five (5) international competitions, featuring both junior and senior-level events. These events offer teams the opportunity to compete at the international level, earn world standing points, and prepare for participation in ISU Championships, all while fostering the overall development and global growth of the sport. Additionally, the series provides increased opportunity for officials to gain experience officiating at an international level[1]. The competition series typically takes place between January and February of each year.
The ISU Challenger Series is a separate competition series in the discipline of figure skating.
Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic
[edit]Though international competitions were planned for the 2020-2021 season, all were cancelled in a series of communications throughout the competitive season.
Due to travel restrictions and competition organizing difficulties related to the COVID-19 pandemic no world standing/ranking points were to be awarded.
