Aeroflot Flight G-7, a Yakovlev Yak-40 passenger flight, was involved in an aviation accident on October 11, 1985, when it crashed into a mountain 47km away from Kutaisi, resulting in the deaths of 14 people.
Aircraft
[edit]The Yak-40, registration CCCP-87803 (MSN 9230923 - Serial number 23-09), was manufactured at the Saratov Aviation Plant in 1972 and was transferred to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which on August 15, was sent to the Tbilisi Aerial Detachment of the Georgian Civil Aviation Directorate.
CCCP-87803 had also appeared in the film, The Case is Transferred to Court, made by the Georgian Film Studio in 1976, during the ending scene of the movie.[citation needed]
