Trying to get as much real world input in here without storyline. This is "About" not "story"! The Straw Hat Pirates are the current arising pirate group in the world of One Piece. Headed by their captain Monkey D. Luffy, they venture into the Grand Line with the aim of completeing all their goals and dreams. The first crew (Luffy) member's depute was made in issue X of Weekly Shonen jump magazine. The crew offically became pirates upon being granted the ship Going Merry and creating there pirate flag. <Insert reference to chapter here>

Crew

"Straw Hat" Monkey D. Luffy

• Position: Captain

Luffy ate the Devil Fruit the 'Gomu Gomu no Mi/ (Gum Gum Fruit English manga/anime). He has increditable strength and determination. He is one of the Straw Hats strongest three fighters.

Luffy's life was once saved by his childhood hero and friend, the great pirate Shanks. Before Shanks departed from Luffy's hometown, he asked Luffy to look after his favourite Straw Hat for him, until the day Luffy became a great pirate and supassed Shanks.

Straw Hat" Luffy currently holds a 300,000,000 Belli bounty on his head. He started out with a 30,000,000 Belli bounty after beating Buggy, Don Krieg, and Arlong back in the East Blue Saga. His bounty rose to 100,000,000 Belli after defeating Sir Crocodile of the Shichibukai, in the Alabasta Arc. After defeating Rob Lucci of CP9 and declaring war on the World Government, his bounty tripled to become 300,000,000 Belli.

Luffy's dream is to become the Pirate King by finding One Piece, the ultimate treasure left behind by the late Gol D. Roger, and raise a "super-crew" to back him up.

"Pirate Hunter" Roronoa Zoro

Position: Swordsman/First Mate

Zoro is a swordsman who uses the 3 Katana swordfighting style Santōryū. He is one of the Straw Hats strongest three fighters.

As a child Zoro trained at a Dojo to become a great swordsman. He would often challenge the owners daughter to a duels. After her 1,001 victory against Zoro, she revealed the woes of being a female swordsman, causing her and Zoro to vow that one of them would one day be come the greastest swordsman. After an accident took Kuina's life, Zoro takes up Kuina's vow and decides to train for both their sakes.

Roronoa Zoro currently holds a 120,000,000 Belli bounty, for his aid in the destruction of Enies Lobby. Before that, he had a 60,000,000 Belli bounty on his head for defeating about 100 bounty hunters at Whisky Peak, and for defeating the Baroque Works agent Mr. 1 (a.k.a. Das Bones).

Zoro's dream, shared with Kuina, is to become the world's greatest swordsman.[2] To fulfill this dream, he must surpass every swordsman in the world, and intends to defeat the world's current greatest swordsman Mihawk.
