Amsterdam Studenten Rugby Vereniging - A.S.R.V ASCRUM is a student Dutch Rugby Union club based in the Dutch capital, Amsterdam. Ascrum was founded in November of 1962 and is a part of the Amsterdam Student organisation, ASC/AVSV ([1]).
Competition
[edit]After spending 15 years in the top league of the Dutch competition, in 2006 Ascrum was relegated. They are currently playing in the 2nd class north competition.
Teams
[edit]Ascrum has 4 teams consisting of the 1XV, 2XV, Jonge Honden (young dogs) and the Amsterdam Academicals (veterans).
Alumni
[edit]Ascrum also has an alumni for current and old players from the club. The Friends of Ascrum foundation was set up in 2010 to provide a network for old members of the club and to provide support to the rugby club Ascrum.
Tournaments
[edit]Ascrum participates every year in the Amsterdam Rugby sevens tournament. Each year at the end of the season, Ascrum also organises and hosts the student sevens tournament.
