The Four-horse golden chariot is an ancient artifact of the Achaemenid period that was found in the treasure of Amu Darya(Oxus Treasure).This chariot belongs to 300 to 500 years BC.This artifact has a four-horse chariot with two people in Achaemenid clothes riding on it.This artifact is now kept in the British Museum.
The date of the fifth and fourth centuries B.C. has been suggested for this chariot and other works of the Oxus Treasure.When the powerful Achaemenid kingdom raised its flag over the lands from the Indus Valley to the Nile River.The treasure was found on the bank of Jihun River or Oxus River in the current territory of Tajikistan and most likely from the ancient hill of Takht-i Kuwad (Qabad) which is a passage on the north bank of the river between 1877 and 1880 AD. It has been obtained in non-scientific explorations.Many artifacts may be scattered or even melted.Probably, the artifacts belonged to a shrine from the Achaemenid period and were placed there by the people of the region as a gift or a vow.This collection was first seen in the British Museum in 1900.
