Amber Narro, Ph.D., an assistant professor at Southeastern Louisiana University, earned her doctorate in mass communication from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2006. She has been teaching multi-media journalism, public relations writing and visual communication.
Accomplishments
[edit]Under Narro's advisement, the Southeastern Press Club founded the Southeastern U Reporter in 2010. This online news production focuses on campus news and events. In 2011, the site was ranked in the top 10 news sites in the Best of the South competition at the Southeast Journalism Conference.
Narro has presented at Louisiana state, regional, national and international conferences. Her research includes multi-media journalism, quality assurance for nonprofit organizations and state legislator communication. She was chosen Teacher of the Year by Southeastern's Gamma Beta Phi in 2010.

Family
[edit]Narro is married to golf professional Jake Narro, and they have a blended family of five children: Shayne, Alex, Harris, Blane and Olivia. She is the daughter of Terry and Karen Reetz of Loranger, Louisiana, and has one brother, TJ.
