Julie Chen and Ian O'Malley introduces the viewers to Big Brother giving them a tour of the production facilities, the Big Brother house and explains the general rules the contestants, known as HouseGuests, must follow. Prior to the arrival of the ten HouseGuests short introductory videos are shown of each HouseGuest. Highlights from the first seasons of the Netherlands, German and Spanish versions were shown giving the viewers an idea of what to expect from Big Brother. A crowd of family, friends and press await the arrival of the HouseGuests who arrive in caravan of ten SUV's each containing a HouseGuest. The ten HouseGuets enter the House waving goodbye to the outside world. | ||||||||||||

The new HouseGuests move into the Big Brother house and begin exploring the house as well as pick out their bedrooms. The HouseGuests then have formal introductions over champagne. In addition, the HouseGuests are given their first challenge and begin working on it. | ||||||||||||

The HouseGuests continue working on their first challenge and after successful completion they are given one-hundred dollars. They then get to know each other better over breakfast. They are given a new task of building a clock for the house. If they complete the task within five minutes they will know the time of day; otherwise, they will not know the time for another week. Days 4, 5, 6 The HouseGuests deal with an injured chicken which was subsequently taken to an animal hospital. The chicken was later returned and the HouseGuests were given instructions on how to nurse it back to health. William fakes a challenge for the fellow HouseGuests. The HouseGuests are given their first weekly challenge, the HouseGuests are given a chance to wager a portion of their weekly grocery money and by the end of the week must complete the challenge. They choose to wager twenty percent and are given names of celebrities, they must determine which of the celebrities are dead or alive. | ||||||||||||
