Hi my name isn't Alice but there are two reasons for my user name.

  1. Alice : I was diagnosed at the age of 43 as suffering from depression when I discovered it wasn't normal to wake up feeling like committing suicude. After a tumultuous 10 years of little or no support other than pills and a couple of botched attempts as suicide I managed to get support from a second tier Mental Health team. During further counselling I was asked to take an Asperger's test. Which I "passed" and I was sent to another team who confirmed the diagnosis but told me my real problem was Attention Deficit Disorder. One of the things I admitted to was, what I was later found out, was called masking. Again thinking this was normal I distanced myself from people (even family) I loved patterns and looked at peoples speech patterns with each other and remind my mask, The mask was / is called Alice (after Alice Cooper ) So that's part one of my user name.
  2. BehindTheLens : I was exposed to photography at the age of 12 but at 17 -18 I spent hours taking photographs, developing the negatives and printing. This was done with a friend who knew a little more but we worked together for those two years. I left school to work for around 30 years in IT before walking away to become a photographer. At the time I was joined by Milo (Weimaraner / Wire Haired Pointer cross). I found that photographing people allowed me to separate myself using the camera as a shield. So as Alice was losing his power the camera propped up Alice. So Behind The Lens.

I am not religious and am actively anti religion, well those that use religion for power. I also believe that any person who actively seeks political office should be barred. Politicians should be tasked to make decisions to improve the lives of the people we represent not larger companies or their own pockets. But saying that in my economics I prefer the the least interference model of traditional Conservatism.
