ALYAA ABBOOD SALIM AL-HASANI 

The Attorney ALYAA ABBOOD SALIM AL-HASANI,

born in Baghdad Al-Kadhimiya,

holds a Bachelor Degree in Law and Politics, and works as an attorney on Baghdad courts

Membership: a member in the Iraqi Bar Association, Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Iraqi Jurists Union and the International Childhood Organization. 

She is an active social researcher in the field of women rights, director of the Media Office in the Iraqi Bar Association, chief editor of Al-MohamiMagazine which is issued by the Iraqi Bar Association.

She has authored published book titled “CEDAW Convention and Its Relevance to Iraqi Legislations”, and another book still under printing titled “Her Rights”.

She was awarded the Shield of Investigative Journalism for herinvestigation “Incest in Iraq is a silent Violence”, which won the best investigation in Iraq for the year 2015 in The UNICCO contest. 

She worked on editing the legal pages of Al-Mouatin Newspaper and Al-Huda Magazine from 2012 till 2016.

She published dozens of researches and legal studies in different newspapers, including (Death Penalty in Iraq: a Comparative Study Between Abolishing And Reusing its/ Forced marriage, a field study in the Iraqi Courts).

She published many legal and political articles in local newspapers, and has opinion columns in Arabic newspapers.

She worked as a legal consultant in the woman committee in Ministry of Culture from 2014 till 2015.

She was mentioned in the Encyclopedia of Iraqi Writers for the researcher Prof. Jawad Abdulkadhim, Part Four for the year 2017, No. 99
