Zachary Lewis Beck (born June 2, 1991),[3] better known by his stage name Futuristic (often stylized as FUTURISTIC), is an American rapper. He was born in Bloomington, Illinois but currently resides in Tempe, Arizona.[4][5] He gained popularity after releasing his album "The Rise" in 2015 and his single "The Greatest".[6][7]
Early life
[edit]Zachary Lewis Beck was born in Bloomington, Illinois on June 2, 1991. He is one of eight kids. He started rapping when he was in 2nd grade with his brothers in a talent show. When he was in 5th grade, his parents separated. He moved with his mom to Danville, Illinois. Later, he moved to Tempe, Arizona and went to McClintock High School.[8][9] He struggled through depression and used music to focus himself.
Career
[edit]On February 6, 2012, Futuristic released his debut album "Dream Big".[10] On February 12, 2013, Futuristic premiered his second studio album titled Chasing Down A Dream.[11] He then followed that up with Traveling Local on June 9, 2014.[12] His next project called The Rise was released on May 12, 2015.[13] "The Rise" went on to peak at number 139 on the Billboard 200 chart.[14] He then went on to release a collaborative album with Devvon Terrell called Coast 2 Coast on December 25, 2015. The album peaked at number 82 on the Billboard 200.[14] His next project called As Seen on the Internet, became available for pre-order for iTunes and Google Play on August 16, 2016, and was released on August 26, 2016.[15] The album peaked at number 116 on the Billboard 200.[14]
