Route 99 replaced the suspended Waterfront Streetcar that operated with the same route number. 40-foot diesel buses operate between the International District and the Olympic Sculpture Park via Pioneer Square and 1st Ave. During the peak tourist months (June - September), buses run every 30 minutes, 7 days a week; during the other months service runs only during weekday peak hours. It was discontinued on March 10, 2018; alternative service between Broad St and Virginia St in Belltown is provided by revised Route 29 during the peak periods only.[238]
