New Orleans - Safety

[edit]

The murder of cab driver Monier Gindy Jan. 4th in Marrero, Louisiana was not an isolated incident. Ever since Hurricane Katrina in 2005, cab drivers have since seen a great increase in the amount of incidents they've faced. Criminals terrorizing the New Orleans Metropolitan area have increasingly targeted cab drivers. President of United Way Co. discourage his drivers not to carry firearms, but when there's a barrel being shoved against there neck, he encourages them to slam down on the gas and crash into a lamppost or even a police car; oddly turning the tables back on the criminal. Transportation

[edit]

Uber is bringing the fight to the taxi industry in major cities across the country and may cause the demise of the taxicab industry which has monopolized the mobile transportation industry for over a hundred years. [2] From the airport to the Central Business District (CBD), a cab ride can cost $33.00. For three or more passengers it'll be $14.00 per person. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage. History of Rockets

[edit]

A rocket is a cylindrical projectile that can be propelled to a great height or distance by the combustion of its contents, used typically as a firework or signal. The first rockets were developed in Song China, by the 13th century. The reports of fire arrows and 'iron pots' rang throughout China til the 16th century when Wan Hu manned a 47 gunpowder-filled rocket sled. From then on rockets formulated into heavy military artillery, used in World War ll and spaceflight mission Apollo. Rockets remain a popular military weapon. The use of large battlefield rockets of the V-2 type has given way to guided missiles. Rockets are often used by helicopters and light aircraft for ground attack, being more powerful than machine guns, but without the recoil of a heavy cannon.
