Yangtze! Yangtze! is a 1989 collection of scientific essays and interviews compiled by Chinese environmental journalist Dai Qing on the subject of the Three Gorges Dam.

First published in Chinese in 1989, the book was banned in China following the Tiananmen Square protests and massacre, and Dai Qing was arrested and imprisoned for ten months.[1]

In 1992, when the NPC held a vote on whether to construct the dam, a full third of delegates voted against. The book is credited with being one of the first modern Chinese attempts at lobbying the public to influence government decision making.[2]: 142  The book is credited with being the first open attempt to influence CCP policy through public opinion.[3]
