Skyler Ditchfield

[edit]

Skyler Ditchfield is Co-Founder and CEO of GeoLinks, a Southern California based internet and phone provider. Skyler is a member of the prestigious Forbes Business Council [1] as well as a member of the Federal Communications Commission's Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee. [2] [3] . Skyler, a tech and computer networking wunderkind, who once worked as a Network Engineer at the Private Network Management Center (PNMC) of MCI Worldcom in Silicon Valley, started GeoLinks as a two-man operation with his cousin Ryan Hauf out of his weight room in 2011 with $550 in startup capital. Since then GeoLinks has become the fastest-growing fixed wireless ISP in the US and according to Inc. Magazine’s 2017 Inc. 5000 list the 5th fastest-growing Telecommunications Company in America. [4]

Early Life

[edit]

Born in Ojai, California on 31st July 1981, Skyler was a born entrepreneur who since the age of six have been selling food, video games, lemonade, and basically anything else he thought people might buy, door-to-door and on the side of the road. It was due to the can-do attitude that he was hired as a Network Engineer at the Private Network Management Center (PNMC) of MCI Worldcom in Silicon Valley. When MCI Worldcom relocated its PNMC to East coast he decided to return to his hometown in Ojai, California, even though he was offered a position on the East Coast. [4]

Career as an Entrepreneur

[edit]

After returning to his hometown, Skyler tried his hands as an entrepreneur. The first few years as an entrepreneur were hard for Skyler facing multiple business failures that caused him to amass massive debt and ended up ruining his credit. He even became homeless during this time. Along with the business failures, his life-long battle with Crohn’s disease landed him in the hospital frequently for multiple month-long stays. The doctors had predicted that he would only live a few more years. Luckily, he found an experimental course of treatment on the Internet that worked and restored his health. It took him a few more tries at startups before he founded GeoLinks with his cousin as a two-man operation. [4]
