Anja Plaschg (Born 15 April 1990) is an Austrian singer-songwriter and Actress. She began her career in 2006 with her experimental music project Soap&Skin. She is most known for her song Me and the Devil which is going viral on TikTok.

Early Life

Plaschg grew up in a rural setting in Styria, where her family operated a farm. From a young age, she displayed musical talent, learning to play the piano at six years old and later taking up the violin at fourteen. Her early education included attending an art school in Graz, which she left after two years to pursue further studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna under renowned artist Daniel Richter. However, she dropped out of this program as well to focus on her music career.

Musical Career

Anja’s debut album, Lovetune for Vacuum, was released in March 2009 and received critical acclaim, reaching the Austrian Top 10 and charting in several other countries including Germany and France. Her music is characterized by its experimental style that blends elements of classical instrumentation with electronic sounds. Over the years, she has been recognized for her unique sound and artistic vision.

In addition to her music career, Plaschg founded a record label called SOLFO, which aims to support Austrian musicians through comprehensive contracts that encompass various aspects of their careers.

Acting and Directing

Beyond music, Anja Plaschg has also pursued acting and directing. She has appeared in several films and theater productions. Notably, she played the role of German singer Nico in a theatrical production titled Nico - Sphinx aus Eis. As a director, she has worked on multiple music videos for her own projects as well as other artistic endeavors.

Currently residing in Penzing, Vienna, Anja values the connection between her living space and creative work. She enjoys the privacy of her home environment which doubles as her studio. Despite her success, she maintains a level of anonymity within her community.
