History
"The Buell Motor Company" was formally incorporated as a Wisconsin company February 26, 1987 by Erik Buell. It went on to build 441 hand build motorcycles at his farm near Mukwonago, until February 3rd 1993 when a new corporation was formed called the "Buell Motorcycle Company", 49% of which was owned by Harley-Davidson, 51% by Erik Buell. The new company went on to built well over 100 thousand motorcycles until it closed in 2009.
Motorcycles that were built before the Buell Motor Company was formed were built by Erik Buell's company Pittsburgh Performance Products.

Three quarter fairing with most of the engine exposed. 17 inch Performance Machine wheels and Works Performance rear shock, Marzocchi M1R 42mm forks with ACT anti-dive. Triple disc brakes, Gambler rear caliper. Very early bikes have 4 piston Buell front calipers, later machines have 4 piston Performance Machine calipers. Two into one Supertrapp exhaust under the engine to the left of the rear shock. All fibre glass body work with a flip up back rest for the pillion.

Three quarter fairing with most of the engine exposed. 17 inch Performance Machine wheels and Works Performance rear shock, White Power inverted forks (without ACT anti-dive). Single 320 front disc brake with 6 piston Performance Machine caliper, Gambler rear caliper. Two into one Supertrapp Exhaust under the engine to the left of the rear shock. All fibre glass body work with a flip up back rest for the pillion. Colours included Candied Ruby Red, White Pearl, Curacao Blue Metallic and Gunmetal Gray Pearl with custom colors available. Some things changed over the three year production run, the most obvious change is the one piece fairing on the 1991 machines being replaced with a three piece fairing for 1992 and 1993.
