Robert Lewis Sutherland (24 March 1863 - 4 July 1932) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His father was John Sutherland (1818 - 27 October 1886), a recruiting sergeant for the army, from Forres in Moray.

His mother was Isabella Ewart Ord (3 October 1825 - 30 March 1867) from Morpeth, England. They married on 2 August 1858 in Glasgow. This was Isabella's second marriage, her first was to William Hall Jenkins (1824 - 16 April 1857).

Robert Lewis Sutherland was born on 24 March 1863 in Glasgow.[7]

He married Agnes Napier (30 October 1862 - 1928) from Anderston, Glasgow. They married on 5 July 1889 in Glasgow.[8]

He died on 4 July 1932 in Glasgow. His usual address was then 8 Sandyford Place in Glasgow.[9]
