John Oswald Stewart ( - 22 April 1918) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life

His father was Thomas Oswald Stewart (29 July 1812 - 4 September 1856), a cooper from the Gorbals in Glasgow, the son of John Stewart and Robina Oswald.[6][7]
His mother was Marion Kay Denovan (c. 1812 - 12 March 1878) from Stirling, daughter of William Denovan of Stirling.[8] Thomas and Marion married on 16 August 1839 in Glasgow, after banns were issued on 4 August 1839.

[edit]He died at 22 April 1918 at 5 Edward Street, Mill Road, Yoker. At the time Yoker was in the parish of Old Kilpatrick, but now lies in Glasgow.
