John Smellie (20 December 1886 - 30 July 1925) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]
Life

1901 census - 1 Fairley Street, Glasgow[6]
His father was Thomas Smellie (born 31 May 1848), a carpet designer from Glasgow.[7][8]
His mother was Agnes Murray (born c. 1853) from Glasgow. Thomas and Agnes married in the Gorbals, Glasgow on 18 December 1879.
John Smellie was born on 20 December 1886 at 384 Caledonia Road, Glasgow.

[edit]He died on 30 July 1925 at 19 Underwood Street, Langside, Glasgow.[9]
The funeral was on 1 August 1925 at Cathcart cemetery.[10]
