Jane Hunter Shield (25 September 1848 - 6 August 1939) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Her father was George Shield (7 March 1806 - 27 February 1899) from Arbirlot in Forfarshire.
Her mother was Mary Dickson (25 January 1816 - 23 July 1898) from Edinburgh. George and Mary married on 28 October 1834 in Edinburgh.
Jane Hunter Shield was born on 25 September 1848 in Scryne, Forfarshire, near Muirdrum. She was baptised in Edinburgh on 13 October 1848.[7]

[edit]She died on 6 August 1939 in Edinburgh. She is buried in Dean Cemetery in Edinburgh.[8]
