IND/Template

Any idea on what is left to edit for IND, and also it seems a template might have to be a thing that has to be monitored as a IP removed the N from South Ferry without knowing it stops during late nights. Do you have a list of all the templates for the subways?--iGeMiNix/What's up?/My Stuff 02:48, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

I think these on the IND are left to modify for Google Earth; Queens Blvd, Eighth Ave, Fulton Street, and the Rockaways.
All of the service templates are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject New York City Public Transportation/New York City Subway/Services and lines. Also, I have added a few recently. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 08:39, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
Alright thanks and Eighth Ave is left then, since I took care of Queens Blvd, most of Fulton Street and the Rockaways awhile back.--iGeMiNix/What's up?/My Stuff 20:23, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
Just did a check and User:Gfoley4 finished rest of Eighth Ave so I guess we are done.--iGeMiNix/What's up?/My Stuff 00:28, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
COOL! Thanks for your help. You really spurred me on! Acps110 (talkcontribs) 00:43, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, no problem bro, props to you and Gfoley4 too!--iGeMiNix/What's up?/My Stuff 03:20, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Template:NYCS Rolling Stock

Hello,

You recently reverted my edits to this template on the basis that my modified order of Lo-V retired equipment under the IRT heading "did not put the cars in the correct chronological order." I undid your revert of this because the cars are in the correct order.

The following can all be verified in the book "New York Subways: An Illustrated History of New York City's Transit Cars" (Centenntial Edition) by author Gene Sansone. I have not completed modifying the four articles in question on Lo-V's and will be doing so over the coming weeks, so the correct information will be reflected on those pages as I do so.

The order of arrival of the cars is also indicated by the car numbers themselves as the IRT followed a sequential numbering system.

The first types of Lo-V's to come into the IRT system were Steinway Lo-V's numbered 4025-4036. There were only 12 of them but they predated the rest of the Lo-V equipment. That makes them the earliest Lo-V's, as they arrived in 1915.

Another change I made to the template was to reflect the information that Flivver Lo-V's are not the same thing as Standard Lo-V's. They were two separate and distinct pieces of equipment incapable of running mixed with each other. Therefore, information on Flivver Lo-V's has been removed from the Standard Lo-V page, and placed on a new page specifically for the Flivver Lo-V's. Flivver Lo-V's were second to arrive, arriving in 1915 also, just shortly after the first Steinway cars. They were numbered 4037-4214.

The first Standard Lo-V cars did not arrive on the IRT system until 1916, making them the last of the non-World's-Fair Lo-V types to arrive. Therefore, chronologically, they are the last. They were numbered 4515 and up.

I hope this clarifies any confusion on this issue. I am leaving the template with the cars arranged in the correct chronological order as noted above: -Steinway Lo-V first, then Flivver, then Standard, then World's Fair and each with its own distinct page. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them for you.

Oops!!! I was working with very little sleep that day. I should not have made that edit without more research. You are correct. Sorry. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 22:54, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Kings Highway (BMT Brighton Line)

Hey, I was just wondering, do you have any idea if they change the current track configuration? I would think that they probably switched sides since all northbound trains run express now, but I haven't really had a reason to visit the line so I was wondering if you have any idea on it.--iGeMiNix/What's up?/My Stuff 10:58, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

No, I haven't been out there. However, according to this edit by Legendary Ranger, the temporary platform covering the northbound express track has been moved to now cover the southbound express track. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 23:36, 4 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it is pretty much what I expected, anyways thanks to him for editing it and thanks to you for replying. Can't wait for Brighton Express to return.--iGeMiNix/What's up?/My Stuff 00:29, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Rollback

Hey, the code you gave me a while back to remove rollback on my watchlist doesn't seem to work. Would you know any reason why? —Preceding unsigned comment added by IGeMiNix (talkcontribs) 20:58, 2010 October 8

That's weird! I checked out your vector.css page and it looks exactly the same as my vector.css page. Perhaps you should log-out of Wikipedia and then log-in to see if something on your computer is confused. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 21:03, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Cleared my cache and everything and still nothing. =(--iGeMiNix/What's up?/My Stuff 21:23, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
How about a shutdown and cold reboot of the computer? Bizarre! Acps110 (talkcontribs) 21:48, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Now it works, had like some weird Chrome Cache thing going on. Anyways thanks again man.--iGeMiNix/What's up?/My Stuff 22:02, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
Sure! Glad you got it working and glad to help. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 23:03, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

137th Street – City College (IRT Broadway – Seventh Avenue Line)

hi there,

you added that image of the stairs into the image gallery in 137th Street – City College (IRT Broadway – Seventh Avenue Line). Do we really need that? The image is rather drab and the stairs are competely uninteresting. If they were of historical importance (like for example Hector Guimard entrances in Paris Metro), then that would be different thing of course. Gryffindor (talk) 13:57, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

I personally think it is fine as 145th Street (IRT Lenox Avenue Line) has a stair as its default picture. I think that as long it isn't the main picture, its fine to show the entrance.--iGeMiNix/What's up?/My Stuff 22:17, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
In response to Gryffindor, there's nothing wrong with that pic of street stairs. It shows the neighborhood directly around the station. The entrances are just as much a part of the station as the platforms. I don't have any problem with the width of the pictures crashing into the infobox on my 1280 x 1024 monitor. I wouldn't oppose the gallery on two lines though. I'm still somewhat upset by you replacing ALL of the pictures of a particular station article with ones of your own; I wish you wouldn't do that. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 01:56, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
You are upset that I took all this time and effort to finally take decent pictures of stations and putting them into articles? Gryffindor (talk) 03:07, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
No, that's not what I meant. Please keep taking pictures and adding them. However, please do not remove pictures you are not replacing with a like subject. For example, the street stairs in the infobox. If you have a better picture for the infobox, just move the current street stairs pic to the gallery. <A>

Hey, do mind chipping into the discussion whether the <A> is a separate route? I personally don't think so so feel free to join in the discussion. Discussion--iGeMiNix 15:33, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

Done – Thanks for the request. Acps110 (talkcontribs) 22:54, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
