Second Avenue Line
I see you've renamed lots of stations on this line to IND. Do you have any source that says that SAS will be part of IND? I've been told (can't find sources now, but can dig them up if needed) that it will be part of BMT operations, since it begins as (and only connects to) the "Q" train which is BMT. Thanks. -Sme3 (talk) 02:48, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it will be chained as IND. You are correct that it will open with BMT service only. Here is one source for that Tracks of the New York City Subway. This shows the track chaining as S Track changes at 72nd St. I can't find the link to the track maps from the MTA yet, but I'll keep looking. Acps110 (talk) 08:28, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for the late response, somehow I missed your reply. I am quite positive that the line will be BMT, but I don't have any publicly-available documentaiton to say that (everything on the web just says "Division B") and don't want to border on using original research. I noticed those stations are red-links in the SAS article now - it appears someone removed the individual 96, 86, and 72nd St articles, so I just unlinked them anyway. Now the article says neither IND nor BMT, and I think it should remain that way 'til a verifiable source is released. -Sme3 (talk) 12:42, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- The redlinks were already there. I don't think the articles for those stations were ever written. I simply wanted to get them in the format that the NYCS WikiProject prefers. I don't mind that you removed them. The other links I changed are just placeholders for station articles until those stations open during Phase 3. I don't think the name of the article should be changed to IND Second Avenue Line until Phase 1 opens in 2016 or 2017. I still can't find the official track maps that show the SAS as part of the IND. Grrr. I will keep looking. If you can get a copy of the trackbook (linked above), it shows a radio frequency change from BMT to IND; north (east) of the Lexington Ave – 63rd St station on the BMT side, heading toward the SAS. So the physical line itself will be IND, and initially operated with only BMT service. (Much the same way the IND 63rd Street line was operated until it was connected to the Queens Blvd line.)
