Abigail A.P. Banda, also known as Abi Banda, is a Canadian actress, entrepreneur and writer. She is known for her book series “Lincoln’s School of Magic” and her role as a lobster in “Alice in Wonderland the Musical.” Banda began the arts at the age of five, writing children’s books and acting in school plays. Before starting her craft business “Abi’s Crafts,” she worked as a supervisor for her local grocery store. Banda rose to prominence with her first book from the “Lincoln’s School of Magic” series titled “Creating the Beast.”

Abigail A.P. Banda was born on July 15th, 2004 at McMaster Children’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario to an upper middle class Catholic family. Her father is a Dutch immigrant, and she also has English and Indian roots from her mother’s side. Her parents are Marion Banda (née Phillips), an elementary french teacher and planning technician, Wilrik Banda. She has two younger brothers named Ashton and Willem. Brought up in a small town in southern Ontario, Banda states that her parents came from lower-class families and worked hard for everything. From age four, she attended École Sainte-Marie, a French Roman Catholic school. Banda describes her high-school self as "very dedicated, very studious, very disciplined" but also "a bit insecure". She considered herself a misfit and was mocked for being “ too tall and skinny.”
