The use of the denim jacket has been interchangeable and represents different modes of fashion at various different times of history or ones personal life. A denim jacket can resemble masculinity and strength as it was mainly made as a work jacket. Though, in contemporary times a trucker (another term for denim) jacket became a prominent marker mainly in men’s fashion. As an example, Mary Hutcherson conducted an anthropological study about a denim jacket who lived in the Soviet sphere and tangled itself in journey. The jacket immigrated to Canada during a time of political turmoil in Asia. The main thing that caught her eye was the denim jacket that was displayed on the wall. The jacket was one of the main clothing items that he had brought with him overseas. Showcasing the jacket as a form of armor and identity marker from where he came from. Ultimately, this anthropologist saw the jacket as a curiosity piece and as a cultural object that has multiple meanings. [1]
