Murder of the Schiefer Couple in Khomasdal

Frans and Fransina Schiefer,(50) were murder in their house in Khomasdal the night of January18,2008 [[]]. Frans was shot in the head while he was asleep,Fransina, his wife was shot 9 times and stabbed repeatedly until the knife's blade broke off in her neck.[[]].The couple's son , Romeo Schiefer, 18 at the time[[]]is being accused of the murder of his parents [[]].Schiefer said that the confession he had made was due to pressure from the police officer who interrogated him the next day [[]].

The confession was read at the trial and stated that Romeo's mother was angry at him because he failed to hand in 4 assignments at Namcol. His mother told him that he was waisting their money and just walking around doing nothing.He went to the bar across the street and bought cigarettes, then returned to their house where he smoked at the back.Fransina apparently screamed at him raging him, leading him to take a knife and stabbed her repeatedly [[]].

Desmond Schiefer and his wife Isabel, testified in defense of the accused.She stated how her brother in-laws reactions was to the news of his parents, they said he was confused and sad. Desmond, Romeo's oldest brother, clearly stated that has the full support of his family and that they know he did not murder his parents[[]]

The 3rd defense witness said that Romeo and his brother came to him at his parents house between 22h30 and 23h00. The 2 young men were going out to a club and invited him with [[]]. Photos of the bloody night of January 18,2008 were submitted as evidence [[]]. Forensic test were sent from the National Forensic Science Institution of Namibia to the Center for Forensic and Security Technology Canada for DNA analysis [[]].the evidence sent to Canada were 2 blood samples of the couple, sample of the pillow and the T-shirt. Romeo's shoes and shoe-laces that matched the bloody pint in the bathroom.

While investigation is still being done, Romeo is still in custody. Four years has past without any progress. I believe that with the forensic evidence a verdict can be given and the case solved. As Romeo said he loved his parents and would never hurt them, there are a lot of people out there that can confess that he is a good kid and would not murder his parents in such a brutal manner.
