'Shakeel Ahmed (Researcher, Academician)' Shakeel Ahmed PhD, MRSC (also known as Shakeel Chaudhary) is an author, academician, researcher[1], and a teacher who is serving as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Higher Education, Government of Jammu and Kashmir and a resident of village Dhangri of Rajouri District of Jammu and Kashmir


Earlier life Shakeel Ahmed was born and raised in a small village Dhangri (Doba) of District Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. He was just one year child, when his father Mohammad Ramzan passed away. There was no bread earner in his family. His mother, a house wife took responsibility of her children. He has suffered a lot during his childhood due to lack of financial assistance. Sometimes, it was difficult for him to continue his studies.

Education He has completed his schooling from schools of district Rajouri. He is a first generation learner of his family. He was good in science and mathematics during his school days, where he taught his class mates. He completed his secondary school certificate with a distinction. His relatives appreciated him and rewarded him. He completed higher secondary certificate with first division. He has obtained his bachelor’s degree from Government Post Graduate College Rajouri affiliated to University of Jammu. He initially thought of joining University of Jammu for a post-graduate degree in Biotechnology or Chemistry, but later he joined Jamia Millia Islamia. He obtained a master’s in Chemistry from Jamia Millia Islamia. He has qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, and got the offer from IIT-Delhi to pursue M.Tech. He qualified NET-JRF and got the full financial support for PhD in Chemistry from University Grant Commission. He again joined Jamia Millia Islamia for his doctorate degree, and was awarded with doctorate in Chemistry in 2016. His first research paper was published in Journal of Radiation Research and Applied Sciences published by Elsevier on the behalf of “The Egyptian Society of Radiation Sciences and Applications”. He got the postdoctoral fellowship from Science and Engineered Research Board. He served as National Postdoctoral Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, New Delhi.

Publications He has more than 30 research or review articles of international repute in his credit. He works in the area of biopolymers, biopolymer derivatives, composites, green synthesis, metal/metal oxides nanomaterials, biopolymers in biomedical, water treatment and bio-based materials in food packaging applications.
