Electronic Design magazine is an electronics and electrical engineering trade magazine and website.[3]

History

Electronic Design was started in 1952 by Hayden Publishing.[4] It became part of the VNU Magazine Group that was acquired by Penton (company) in 1989.[5][6] Penton Media was acquired by Informa PLC, a British multinational publishing, business intelligence, and exhibitions group, in 2019.[7] Endeavor Business Media acquired a number of publications from Informa including Electronic Design.[8]

EE Product News

In July 2007, Penton Media's OEM electronics publication, EE Product News (controlled circulation: 96,000), merged with Penton Media's "Electronic Design" magazine, (combined controlled circulation: 275,000). EE Product News was founded in 1941, as a monthly publication.[9]

Content

The magazine's regular sections include Technology Reports, Engineering Essentials, Design Solutions, and Engineering Features.[citation needed]

TechXchange has articles, videos, webinars and E-Bookss.[10]

Some Ideas for Design, from 1961 to 1979, were collected and published as books,[11] and some, are now online.[12]

Notable contributors

Bob Pease, was an engineer with National Semiconductor Corporation, who wrote a monthly column, Pease Porridge,[13] about analog electronics.

Dave Van Ess, who has worked at Cypress Semiconductor, since 2000, and works with Cypress PSoC[14] wrote articles from 2012 to 2014.[15]

The print edition and digital (PDF) editions of Electronic Design is free for qualified, U.S.-based design engineers, managers and business and corporate management in the electronics industry.[16] The website is available to all with premium content available to registered users.[17]
