[edit]Shameem has been elected as a meyor of municipal from Rangpur-6 constituency. He beat independent candidate Shaydur Rahman. He defeated an independent rebel candidate
He was elected mayor of Pirganj municipality for the first time in 2013 from Awami League. Personal life
[edit]Shamim is the 3rd of 4 brothers. From a young age, he was inspired by politics from the close proximity of uncle Wazed Mia and aunt Sheikh Hasina, and got involved in politics. In 2013, he married Saj. Currently he is living in Sheikh Hasina's house Joy Sadan.
