Early Life and Youth Career
Mitko Tomov was born in Pleven, Bulgaria, on August 17, 2000. From an early age, he displayed remarkable talent for football, particularly as a striker.
Tomov began his youth career at FC Severnyak Slavovitsa during the 2016/17 season. His performances earned him a move to FK Pordim 2017, where he played for the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. His powerful shot and ability to score goals caught the attention of Academik Svishtov’s senior team, but health issues prevented the deal from being finalized.
In 2019, after recovering from his health concerns, Tomov joined the youth team of FC Vihur Slavynovo. Unfortunately, the season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, limiting his opportunities to showcase his potential.
Professional Career
FK Pordim 2017 (2020/21)
At the age of 20, Tomov transitioned to senior football, returning to FK Pordim 2017 for the 2020/21 season in “B OG Pleven.” His performances were outstanding, but the club’s lack of progress prompted him to seek opportunities elsewhere.
FK Kosmos Grivitsa (2021/22)
Tomov signed with FK Kosmos Grivitsa, a leading club in its league, for the 2021/22 season. However, personal challenges and a car accident in October 2021 affected his form, limiting his contributions to the team.
FK Chavdar Brushlyanitsa (2022)
In January 2022, Tomov joined FK Chavdar Brushlyanitsa in “A OG Pleven.” His performances were impressive, and he was a key player during the second half of the season. However, the team, along with 103 other clubs, was expelled from the league due to conflicts with the Bulgarian Football Association.
FC Sitomir Nikopol (2022/23)
Tomov moved to FC Sitomir Nikopol, but he struggled to adapt to the coach’s tactics, as he was played out of position as a defensive midfielder.
FK Vihur Gulantsi (March 2024)
In March 2023, Tomov joined FK Vihur Gulantsi, where he returned to his natural role as a striker. Despite his efforts, the team finished last in “A OG Pleven.”
Return to FK Chavdar Brushlyanitsa (2024–Present)
In the summer of 2023, Tomov returned to FK Chavdar Brushlyanitsa, where he currently plays. There are ongoing rumors of a mid-season transfer to another club.
