The College of Engineering and Computer Science is the engineering school at the University of Michigan–Dearborn, a public university in Dearborn, Michigan.

History

Engineering at UM–Dearborn dates to its first academic year,[1] it was reorganized as the School of Engineering in June 1973.[2] The School of Engineering was renamed the College of Engineering and Computer Science in March 1998.[3]

Degree programs

The College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) is home to eleven undergraduate degree programs [4] and twelve graduate degree programs.[5] They housed in CIS, ECE, ME, IMSE departments and college Interdisciplinary Programs.

The university offers 9 ABET-accredited engineering bachelor's degree programs:[6]

  • BSE in Bioengineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Science
  • BSE in Computer Engineering
  • BSE in Electrical Engineering
  • BSE in Industrial and Systems Engineering
  • BSE in Manufacturing Engineering
  • BSE in Mechanical Engineering
  • BSE in Robotics Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering

The college offer two Doctor of Engineering (D. Eng.) programs:[7]

  • D.Eng. in Automotive Systems and Mobility
  • D.Eng. in Electrical and Computer Engineering

Rackham Graduate School Ph.D. programs

Four Ph.D. programs of the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies are located, administered, and offered by UM-Dearborn:[7]

  • Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science
  • Ph.D. in Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering
  • Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Sciences and Engineering
