Universal Scientific Industrial (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., (stylised as USI; Chinese: 環旭電子股份有限公司),[1] is an electronics design and manufacturing company.[2][3][4][5] The company was established in 1976 in Nantou, Taiwan, and operates as one of the members of ASE Holdings.[6][7] USI's subsidiaries, including Asteelflash and Hirschmann Car Communication, have 30 corporate locations worldwide.

USI began operations in 1976, initially focusing on automotive electronic modules, including voltage regulators and resistors. In 1999, the company became one of the members of ASE Holdings.[8][9][10][11][12] USI is headquartered in Shanghai, China.[13][14][15]

The company is primarily involved in the design and manufacturing of electronic products, including wireless modules, computer and storage systems, consumer electronics, industrial electronics, and automotive components.[16][17][18][19] It also offers miniaturization and modularization through system-in-package solutions for wireless communications and automotive electronics.[20][21] It also provides logistics, material procurement, and maintenance services.[22][23][24][25]

The company was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2012.[26][27]

In 2020, USI completed the acquisition of Asteelflash, a French electronic manufacturing services company.[28][29]

In 2023, the company acquired TE Automotive Wireless Business from TE Connectivity.[30][31][32]
