Dr. Uday Narkar is an Indian communist politician, playwright and author. Currently he is the secretary of the Maharashtra unit of Communist Party of India (Marxist).[1][2] He formerly served as the secretary of Kolhapur district committee of CPI(M).[3] He is also the Editor of the CPI(M) Maharashtra state weekly Jeevan Marg.

Uday Narkar is a prolific translator, rendering numerous books from English to Marathi and vice versa. His diverse career spans 16 years as a faculty member at Yashwantrao Chavan College in Kolhapur, followed by a 4-year stint as a senior producer at ETV-Marathi.[3]
