Tyler J. Kliem (Yiddish: טײַלער קלײַם; born 2002) is an American Yiddishist, translator, and graphic designer.

Early life and education

Kliem was born in Camden, New Jersey in 2002 and raised in Hamilton Township, New Jersey.[1][2] He is Ashkenazi Jewish. His mother is of Polish-Jewish descent.[3]

Kliem graduated from Nottingham High School in 2020.[2] He graduated in 2024 from the University of Pennsylvania.[3][4] Kliem was a Jewish Media Fellow for New Voices and Ayin Press, the latter in which he published Joseph Bovshover translations.[5][6]

He obtained a Fulbright Scholarship to study the Yiddish avant-garde at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.[7]
