Tun Thura Thet (Burmese: ထွန်းသူရသက်) is a Burmese technology specialist, a technopreneur and an academic.
Dr. Tun is the founder and chairman of Myanmar Information Technology (MIT) Pte Ltd,[1] the leading software development and System Integration Company in Myanmar; Chief Solution Architect and director of Nirvasoft Pte Ltd, a Singapore based software company specializing on enterprise solutions and digital innovation.
In academics, Dr. Tun is a visiting lecturer at the Yangon University Economics (YUEco), Meiktila University of Economics, and University of Computer Studies, Yangon (UCSY) in Master of Business, Executive Master of Business, Master of Banking and Finance and Master Computer Science programs. Dr. Tun is also the special guest speaker at the NTU Convocation 2015 and the recipient of the NTU Alumni Achievement Award 2021, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Dr. Tun is also a co-founder and director of Myanmar ICT Development Corporation, the MICT Park; an elected director of Myanmar Institute of Directors, MIoD and an independent director or Myanmar Credit Bureau.

Career
[edit]Dr. Tun established MIT in 1997 and is considered one of the pioneers in Myanmar's then-nascent field of information technology. MIT provides ICT services in banking, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and digital innovation technology-related services in Myanmar and regional markets. MIT was the ASEAN Business Award winner for the e-ASEAN sector in 2015 and ASOCIO 2018 Outstanding ICT Company Award.
